How Schoolo collects, uses, and protects information about your school, staff, students, and parents.
This Privacy Policy explains how Schoolo (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you or your institution use our school management platform, website, and mobile applications (collectively, the “Service”).
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email, phone number, institution name, role, and the data your institution uploads about students, staff, and parents. We also collect technical data automatically: IP address, device type, browser, and usage logs to keep the Service secure and improve it.
The data your institution uploads — student records, attendance, fees, communications — remains the property of your institution. Schoolo acts as a processor and never sells institutional data to third parties.
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest, role-based access control, automated backups, and host data in compliant cloud data centers. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized engineers.
We share data only with sub-processors strictly required to deliver the Service — for example, hosting (cloud infrastructure), payment processing (Razorpay), email/SMS/WhatsApp delivery providers, and AI inference partners (e.g. Groq) for AI features. All sub-processors are bound by data protection agreements.
Schoolo is used by schools to manage records of students, including minors. We do not collect children's data directly — data is uploaded by your institution under its own consent and parental authorization frameworks. We treat children's data with heightened care and apply additional access restrictions.
Subject to applicable law, you and your institution may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights.
We retain institutional data for as long as your subscription is active and for a limited period afterwards to support recovery requests or legal obligations. Backup copies are deleted on a rolling schedule.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the platform and email at least 30 days before they take effect.

School Bus Tracker collects precise and/or approximate location data from driver devices during active trips to provide live school bus tracking. This allows authorized parents and school administrators to view the real-time location of the school bus.
Location data is collected only while an active trip is in progress and only for the purpose of providing the core tracking functionality of the app.
Depending on the app configuration and Android permissions granted by the user, location may continue to be collected while the app is running in the foreground or as a foreground service during an active trip.
We do not use location data for advertising or marketing purposes.
